The Review: Rimmel Scandal Eyes

Rimmel is one of my favourite drugstore brands. It brings out endless amazing products, and I am always interested in swatching, testing, trying and buying something from Rimmel. When it came to the new Scandaleyes release (at the time) I definitly had to get my hands on one. I didn't get round to writing a review as quick as I'd have liked as it is quite a dark browny/bronze and I didn't have the opoortunity to go all out when I first had it. Now that I have been able to wear it and judge it, I thought I would let you all know what I thought.

Rimmel Scandaleyes shadow stick, in bad bronze, £4.49 is a brilliant shadowstick. I really love pencil shadows like this one, as they are really long lasting (usually) and provide great bases. I instantly loved this shadowstick by Rimmel when I swatched it as it was a gorgeous bronzey brown which is one of my favourite colours to wear on a smokey eye. What I love about this product, is that you can just draw it onto your lid, take a nice fluffy blending brush (I use one from crowne brushes which is amazing- a good dupe of the MAC #217 brushes which I will do a review on soon!) and blend the shadow into the crease and up slightly. I love the effect that it creates when blended at the crease as it gives the impression you have worked hard on creating a bronze/brown smokey eye with different colours where really you haven't! It's great! It is like a duo product, it provides a great base for other colours to be applied, or wear it on its own.

You can see in the above photo the difference between pencilling the product onto your lids, and the effect of blending out the edges. It provides that really great sultry, smokey, soft edge that creates a really sophisticated finish.

What do you think of this product? Have you tried any of the other colours?
