November & December Favourites

You might have been wondering where my November favourites dissapeared too, however it was no magic act. I generally didn't have much time toward the end of November to write any blog posts! As you may or may not know, my boyfriend is currently in Afghanistan and he was home on his Rest and Recovery for just over a week at the end of November. That is primarily the reason why I there were slim to none blog posts up, tweets and Facebook posts up over that week and a half, which I hope you can understand! Not only was he home at the end of November, I was also in my last week of my University placement, where I was in the process of organising the Christmas Dance Show and was snowed under with work! So excuses out the way, this is why I am combining my November and December favourites so you don't miss out on anything! It's going to be a long one, so go and grab a cuppa before you sit down and chill out!

The Makeup

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, £30.50 here. At first I didn't love this foundation, but now its winter I have found myself wearing it more and more. It has quite a thick consistency and is extremely full coverage which is really good for the winter when you want to feel a little more secure in your foundation! I find this foundation blends really nicely once warmed up in my fingers, but I also like to dampen by Real Techniques Beauty Blender, working and dabbing in the foundation as I go.

Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation, £33 here. I am going to make a big claim now and say that this foundation is my favourite foundation of all time. It is just the perfect combination of everything! The second you apply this onto your face you see such a huge difference! I would say that it is a full coverage foundation, with the  feeling of a lightweight foundation. When I wear this foundation I feel like I'm not wearing any at all! It covers all redness, makes my skintone so even, lasts ALL day and generally looks absolutely flawless on your skin. A little really goes a long way with this foundation and I really like to either use my fingers to apply this or with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. (Excuse the horrible dirty packaging in the photo, this product has been well loved and I am just trying to squeeze out my last little bit!)

MAC Shy Girl- full review here. I mostly wore this lipstick throughout November. It is the most gorgeous peachy nude that gives your makeup that certain Je Nous Se Qua!

Real Techniques sponge, £5.99 here. I had been wanting to purchase a beauty blender sponge for such a long time but I just couldn't justfy their price tag. I was close to caving, when I saw that Sam Chapman, The heavenly creator of Real Techniques Brushes, had created her very own beauty blender sponge. I was shopping in boots late October, and needed a third purchase to get my 3 for 2 deal so this was a perfect excuse. I have had a good 8 weeks wear out of this sponge now and can honestly say it does wonders. I'm not a big believer in products that claim to last 16 hours or products that instantly take 10 years off your life etc, however this sponge although it has no exclamations like this, really really really did keep my makeup on so much longer then usual! I'v started to use this sponge for apply my under eye concealer as well and it really does to wonders. Well done Sam! P.S for maximum results use this damp! Run it under a cold or luke warm tap, and squeeze out the excess water.Your makeup will stay put longer!

Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Palette, £38 here. One of my most priciest purchases, however so so worth it. This palette is absolutely stunning. I can't say it is something that I have religiously worn over the past two months, but on the occasions I have, I have always received such lovely compliments! The  colours are buttery, so complimentary of one another, they glide on like magic and stay put all day. It is a day to night palette, either go soft and sultry for the day time or glam it up with its darker colour and glitter colour for the evening! Although word of warning, I have heard some people who have had minor reactions to the glitter colour who claim to have generally sensitive eyes! Although I have very sensitive skin and haven't had a problem with it! In the new year I plan to start creating some of my very own makeup looks and this palette will be featuring!

Urban Decay Naked Palette, I think it is about £38, however I can't find it online anywhere so it must be sold out? I'm sure it is still being stocked! It is the brown one. I have been using this palette daily since I bought it really early on in the year! I find I use this palette more than the Naked 2 palette. It has some really gorgeous colours in there that are really similar to some of my favourite MAC shadows. I absolutely love Virgin, Sin, Sidecar and Half Baked. They are my most used. Half Baked is very similar to woodwinked from MAC, and Sin is very similar to Naked Lunch from MAC! Keep your eyes peeled in the New Year for some Makeup Tutorials which will involve some of these shadows!

Chanel Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Blonde Claire, £19 here. I love to mix and match between eyebrow pencils, and using shadows on my brows. Throughout December, I have been loving this Chanel pencil as it looks very precise yet natural on my brow, it lasts all day and suits my coloring perfectly.

MAC Blusher in Well Dressed, £18 here. I am not usually the type of girl to wear pink blusher. My complexion is light, my hair is blonde and my eyes are blue, and the majority of the time I don't feel that I can get away with too much pink, however when I'm wearing a nude lip, or a pinky nude lip (depending on its hue and shade) I like to sport a soft pink cheek. This colour is perfect for me as it is very warm despite it looking quite cold in the packaging, so it doesn't wash me out and make me look like a little doll! Lovely.

Sleek Lipstick in Cherry, £4.99 here. This lipstick is a typical Christmas Lipstick. It is so warm and berryfied! The reason this lipstick is in my favourites, is because of its colour only. I think it is so warm and beautiful. Howver, it doesn't last overly long, it does bleed if no lipliner is used and it is quite drying. But the colour makes up for it all! Just add a lip liner and some lipsolve and you're good to go!

MAC Hang up, £15 here. Currently out of stock on the MAC website, but you could try Debenhams or Selfridges or John Lewis! Another gorgeous colour. Quite purpley toned, but looks lovely with a smokey eye. That's how I sported it! Add a lip liner to give it that extra staying power!

MAC Prep and + Prime. (I can't find this online and I think it may be discontinued! There are lots of other MAC Prep and Primes you could supplement this for though, why not try prep + prime skin which is £20.50, here.) I got this early last year and haven't use it too much. But lately I feel that my complexion has been all over the place, I have had spots and blemishes, red patched, dry patches you name it. My skin has just been quite unhappy lately! I have been using this as my base and it  provides me with an extra layer of moisture, whilst balancing out my skin tone. It has proved really beneficial over the last couple of weeks and I would just like to say thank you MAC! You've hidden some of my unruly features!

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfecting Concealer, £4.19 here. This is a really good full coverage concealer. I use it to cover spots, and my under eye circles. It has a lightening effect so really helps reflect the light under your eyes making them look younger and more awake! It doesn't flake, crease and is really long lasting and it has a doe foot applicator. Quick and easy! I like to dab it onto my skin and either blend in with my fingers, or use my Real Techniques Beauty Blender damp to blend in. Add some loose powder over the top and itl keep you going from day to night! And at under £5, its worth a shot. P.S be careful when you put the applicator back in the bottle, it can sometimes get a little messy.

Laura Mercier Colour To Go Palette, $50 here. (Currently Out of Stock)
I received this palette last Christmas from my boyfriends parents, and I have been using it a lot this festive season! It's just such a multi-tasker. Four gorgeous smokey colours, including a primer, a crease colour a smokey colour and a glitter, a rosy lipgloss (not in the picture because it's not in my favourites) a bronzer/contour and a coraly pink blush! Obvisouly the point of the palette, but all these colours really do look so beautiful together! It's a perfect travel palette if you're not looking to carry much makeup around with you, and if you want to be able to create a soft look, or a more deep smokey look!

Skincare
L'Oréal Paris Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution, £3.33 here. This hypo-allergenic toner has made my favourites, one because of its price, two, because it has pretty packaging, and 3, because of its properties. It is light, really good for sensitive skin, doesn't leave my skin feeling tight or dry and has helped to bring down my blemishes and redness. I do apply a moisturiser afterward, but it is nice to use a toner and for my skin to still feel supple and bouncy once toned! It doesn't sting when it comes in contact with the delicate skin around my eyes and helps to remove every last trace of makeup/dirt/residue that my cleanser may have missed.

Kiehls Ultra Facial Cleanser, £15 here. This has been a favourite of mine since September! I bought this in Duty Free on my way home from Dubai, and it is just heavenly. I like to use this product in the shower, don't ask me why, but it is my 'shower cleanser.' A little goes a long way with this product for sure! I massage a small pea size amount into my fingers and apply onto wet skin. It really does remove every last trace of makeup! There is no danger of any tiny bits of mascara left stuck in your lashes either which sometimes I find happens with other cleansers! It really hydrates my skin, leaving it as soft as you like, and it really makes my face look energized. It is for all skin types, and I have dry skin so that is even better as I usually try to avoid products that claim they suit all skin types, because every skin type has different needs! It doesn't leave my skin feeling tight whatsoever, and it smells nice too! Bonus.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O - Micelle Solution (formerly Crealine), £11.60 here. (You can also get smaller ones)Meet my 'lazy girl cleanser.' My dad bought me this over from France back in September I think it was, and it has lasted really well! I call it my lazy girl cleanser, as it doesn't require me to trudge off to the bathroom, tie my hair back out of my face, roll my sleeves up so they don't get drenched in water etc.. you get the idea. All I have to do is take a cotton pad, squirt it on and slap it all over me face. Not literally, obviously I take pride in my circular motions of removing my makeup... I think of this product as more of my cleanser after my cleanser, e.g I have just removed all my makeup, and now I just want to give it an extra swipe over to make sure all makeup is removed! Saying that, it has a great formula, it isn't drying, it is very handy, and it does remove face makeup extremely well. This product, I would say, is probably better  for your morning routine, when you don't have any makeup on and you just want to give your face a good cleanse before you apply your daily makeup!

La Roche Posay, £9.75 here. Full review of this product to come soon, however I have been using it religiously throughout Decemeber! I have had an outbreak in spots and blemishes and they just were not going down! This product has been on my wishlist for a while but considering I am not usually prone to spots, it wasn't top of the list! I bought this as my only hope to get rid of my spots and it has worked very well, but I won't give too much away as I am going to do a full product review on it soon!

Garnier Moisture Match Protect and Glow, £2.98 here. I have been absolutely loving this moisturiser, especially in the winter! It really does give me full hydration for the day and night, whilst leaving my skin looking glowing. It has SPF 20 which is brilliant, even though the sun doesn't seem to shine over here in the UK, but it's always good to be safe! There are a lot of different moisturisers in this range and I think I am going to try them all. At £2.98 you can't go wrong with this product! Note: Wash your hands after use, if it gets in your eyes it is lethal! Expect water streaming out of your eyes and not being able to see for half an hour! (This happened to me whilst I was driving- I touched my eye and all hell let loose! I could of crashed. Scary!) But other then that this is one of my all time favourite moisturisers. I love it!

St Tropez Instant Tan Lotion Light / Medium, £6.66 (on offer) herereceived this out of Cosmo I think it was, but it is amazing! St Tropez is my favourite fake tanner, so I snapped this up instantly! It does exactly the same trick as normal St Tropez, comes out just a little bit deeper I think than my normal one but I love that anyway! It smells so nice and is good for an instant glow. It doesn't attack your bed sheets and it washes off without a trace, just like it says on the bottle! Perfect.

Haircare
Herbal Essences Bee Strong Leave in Strengthening Cream, £1.96 here (on offer from £3.99) This is a new purchase this month, and I have only used it a few times but I am trying to take more care in my hair! I have been loving it so far, I just spritz it onto my hands and rub it into the midths and lengths of my hair. It just helps to keep your hair strong and prevent breakage, especially from brushing your hair. It smells lovely and doesn't leave an oily residue on your hair. Virtually undetectable!

TRESemmé Keratin Mask, £2.95 (on offer) here. Like I said, I'm trying to take a step up from my normal application of Argan Oil to my hair, so I thought I would take Superdrug up on their offer and purchase a hair mask. This one looked quite interesting and I have only used it once, ( I apply it after my conditioner and leave it on for 3-4 minutes before rinsing) so I'l be sure to update you on it but I can already tell I am going to be loving it. I am only going to apply it once a week, because I have a lot of products that I want to try on my hair and don't want to completely overload it and send it the wrong way! But after a month or so I will definitley update you on the state of my hair!

Organix Morrocan Argan Oil, £4.99 on offer from £6.99 here. I can't rave enough about this product. It really has helped my hair grow so much over the past year! I have been loving this product every month since I bought it. I have severely used it without fail over the past 6 months and loved it every time. It smells AMAZING, feels amazing, is so nourishing, strengthening and hydrating. I apply it on my hair overnight and wash it out in the morning. I only apply this when I know I am going to wash my hair the next day though, I don't apply it if my hair is still clean. Sometimes however, I like to sprinkle a little into my paddle brush after I have washed it and just brush through my hair with it, but only if I didn't use it the night before.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Tropical, £2.48 (instead of £4,99 for the 400ml) here  This stuff is a perfect pick me up if you are running late, need some oomph or want to keep your last nights hair in for another day (or 2). It soaks up the oil and leaves a gorgeous scent on your hair! I would reccommend getting the colour for your hair though, as it does tend to spray white if you're not careful! I just blend it in with my fingers! It doesn't last all that long, but you can get it in lots of different sizes! I have purchased the largest one as it is better than half price at the moment and I know I won't really need a travel size one any time soon!

So there you have it, a very very very very! hefty post, which is my fault I know! But I hope I made it up to you with a fair few products to add to your wishlist! I'm so so so so so so excited for the new year! My last year of University, George home from the sands as we call it, and a whole new loada posts coming up on Blushous Beauty!
