Tanya Burr Lips and Nails

Today's post is an exciting one. This person is accountable for getting me hooked on YouTube, she was the first girl who's video I watched on YouTube, and the first girl who's videos and blog posts I watch and read religiously. Earlier this year, Tanya Burr launched her own lip gloss and nail polish line called Tanya Burr Lips and Nails with eye candy.

Tanya Burr is definitely one of those people who really inspire me, she has worked her way into a successful career through lots and lots of hard work and so Obviously, when her line launched I was almost immediately on feel unique placing my order. Luckily for you, I have had a lot of wear out of my lip glosses and so I can share a real good review with you...

First things first, I investigated (really I stalked) Tanya's instagram page (here) to see if there were any photos that she had uploaded wearing her lip glosses so that I could pick my favourite one. (I actually would have like to of popped the entire range into my basket, but being a student and all I had to enforce the will power to hold back) I ended up with 'exotic island' and 'picnic in the park'. Exotic island was a step outside of my comfort zone as I don't often wear bright pinks, however as I had hoped, exotic island was much more on the purpley side. Don't be afraid though, it is a really soft natural colour with great pigmentation. Honestly a shade that would suit all hair colours. I was really pleased with it as it spiced up the most natural day makeup, without overpowering it, but I could also vamp it up in the evening with a few extra coats. For even more vampage, pick your favourite purple lipstick and slick this on over the top to go from frodo to fabuloso! (Not like you would look like frodo in a purple lipstick, I just liked the rhyme- and for the record, I love a purple lipstick!)
'Picnic in the park' is definitely the colour that I use the most often as it is a beautiful everyday shade. I'm generally much more of a coral peach type of girl, but 'Picnic in the park' is a beautiful pinky colour that really compliments my skin despite me having a yellow skin tone. Being blonde and blue eyes, I often let the more pinkier products slide past as I fear someone will turn around a call me barbie, however 'picnic in the park' is so subtle, light, buildable and smells amazing. It has definitely made me think twice about pink lip shades and I am definitely experimenting with more pinks and loving them! #ThanksTanya

  1. I have been resisting the urge to order a couple of these but I don't think I can hold out much longer! Exotic Island really suits you - it's a great shade for your eye colour :)
