Bringing in Autumn 2015 with KIKO

Whether you are a vintage queen and wear a red lip all year round, or you're off out and wanting to sport that iconic look, this drugstore dupe is perfect for you. I love wearing a bold lip, but it can be an absolute nightmare at times. I am so done with summer now and so, so, SO ready for Autumn! It's my favourite time of year for both fashion and makeup trends, and with the rain looking like it's here to stay, I have decided to bring the feeling of an early autumn into my makeup routine,  and have been sporting a few different berry shades over the past week. Getting a kickstart with the A/W posts, I thought I would share with you a gorgeous, autumnal, drugstore paring bought to you by KIKO.

First off, I love the packaging. It took me a good 30 seconds to understand how to open it but the rose gold packaging is pretty nice. A little bulky for a handbag lipstick but we can't have it always. It's a semi-matte lipstick so it really does have a great longevity like the majority of matte lipsticks, but the slight satin finish to it gives a really lovely sexy look.
The lip pencil is really smooth, glides on nicely and has a really good pigmentation to it. Like all lipliners it is slightly drying, but in comparison to your standard MAC lip pencil, it is much more velvety and long lasting. This lip pencil reminds me a little of (I think) 'night moth' from MAC but just a little more berry toned. I think it's important to have a lip liner when your going for a red lip, as it just holds everything in place and gives a really defined finish. I actually prefer to apply my lipstick first when using red (or any dark/bold colour at that matter) and neaten it up at the edges once you have applied a few layers of lippy. The two products compliment each other beautifully, even though they are not exactly the same shades. You could wear both separately from one another but I just love the effect of wearing both together! What do you think of KIKO products? I think KIKO is definitely one of my top favourite drugstore brands!
