A Love Affair With Chanel

Chanel has always been and probably will always be one of my favourite beauty brands. They haven't ever let me down and always win my heart with every new collection. Their Christmas Collections are always without a doubt the best! I thought in this post I would tell you about some of my go-to Chanel products that I trust and rely upon daily. I realise that Chanel is extremely expensive, but personally, it's the one brand that I feel was made for my skin. If you're someone that is really into beauty and skincare, and have tried hundreds of different brands, then I know you feel me when I say there is a brand made for every skin type. It just so happens that my beauty and skincare soulmate is the most beautifully expensive, purse emptying one of all.. but, as they say.. when you know, you know.

I have tried  all but one of the Chanel Bases. The only one I haven't used is the Chanel Vitalumiére Velvet in the Black bottle.  I have tried it, and it seemed absolutely lovely but I held of buying it as I still had about 100 Chanel foundations I needed to use up before I could justify buying yet another one. I first tried the Chanel Vitalumiére. This is definitely the most dewy foundation I have ever tried in my life. All Chanel foundations I feel are quite hydrating, but this one was definitely the most hydrating on my skin. It had this velvety finish that was so glowing and beautiful and made your skin look incredible. Be careful if your prone to shine though, I would definitely say it's more suitable for those with dry/dehydrated-normal skin. If you're looking for a very youthful, healthy glow with a medium coverage- this one is your baby. (This one isn't documented in the pictures because I chucked it out as it was taking up much needed space in my foundation drawer! But I have added a link to it below for you to check out).

The second one I tried was the Chanel Vitalumiére Aqua. This one felt much lighter on my skin, but still gives a medium coverage finish. It blends in beautifully and feels lovely and hydrating. The lasting power was definitely longer than the Chanel Vitalumiére, and had much better packaging. It has more of a flexible plastic bottle (whereas the one above is in a glass bottle), with a screw lid. Give it a shake as it is water based, and you can squeeze it right onto the back of your hand. The glass bottle on the Vitalumiére had a plastic lid that could come off in your bag, and the pump can get a little bit messy (but not enough to put me off it!). This one is definitely better for all skin types with its hydrating properties, and as it is water based it is totally fine for oily skin types.

The next one I tried was the Perfection Lumière. I bought this one back in February so not long until I have had it a year. I kid you not, I have used this so much and there is still product left in it. So this one is in the same type of bottle as the Vitalumiére, so the same packaging pro's and con's apply, the only difference is this one has a frosted finish- although I am pretty sure it has recently changed again. I spoke to the lady on the Chanel counter a few weeks ago and Chanel had actually discontinued this product a few months back, but apparently brought it back because their customers went absolutely crazy! And I am definitely with them on that. Trying this product was definitely a new thing for me. Supposedly providing a matte finish, I wasn't sure how I would get on with it (as I am more of a dewy/radiant finish type of girl). But I must admit, I absolutely love it. It gives a medium coverage that is definitely buildable. What's nice is that you can build it up without it looking heavy or cakey. I love this foundation both for daytime and a night out, and what I love about it is that although it is their matte foundation, it still has an element of radiance and youthfulness to it which I love. This base was actually designed for more mature skin, but i'm not waiting to have mature skin to use this. I love it too much!

The last base that I have used throughout the entire summer, is the Chanel CC cream. OH MY GOODNESS ME Chanel have set the bar with this. Despite it being ridiculously over priced, it is so so worth every penny. It actually comes under Chanel's skincare range because it is designed to be half skincare half coverage. The funny thing is, in my opinion, this is Chanel's most full coverage base out there. It definitely needs to be blended quite quickly, especially if you have dry skin, but I can't get enough of it. It's full coverage, long lasting and gives such a flawless finish. My skin feels light, bouncy, hydrated and fresh whenever I wear this, and I love the finish it gives. Again, it is extremely radiant, dewy and will leave you looking extremely fresh faced. The only thing that annoys me about this despite its price, is that there isn't a great selection of shades. I think there is about 4 shades altogether. I usually wear a 20 in Chanel foundations and can trust that I can pick up a different foundation and the colour will still be perfect. With this one you can't, you really do need to test the colour because there are less shades to choose from and to be honest, for everyday wear I need something in between two. Luckily my skin has been more tanned throughout the summer though so this one was perfect for me. I think all of the Chanel foundations have SPF in them which is also a bonus, not to mention the fact that they all smell SO GOOD.

My other favourite Chanel products include the lipsticks, lip glosses, bronzers, cream blushers, highlighters, eyeliners, eyebrow pencils and eyeshadows. My signature scent is always Chanel Chance and I have been living in the new scent since it came out earlier this year. Chanel just has a way with makeup that I personally feel is so unique to other bands out on the market. I can't quite explain it, but Chanel just NAILS the way I want my skin to look and feel. OH and you guys know exactly how much I love my Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel.
Also just so you guys know, Chanel RARELY has a sale, maybe once/twice a year maximum but at the moment, Debenhams have got a sale on Chanel products. I have linked everything below for you so go check them out in case you want to purchase any Christmas pressies early.
