A classic trench coat can cover you in any season, any event, and is I suspect without a doubt the most timeless piece of clothing in your wardrobe. It's probably the main reason why it is so well loved by pretty much every female ever, and male actually!

This post is in collaboration with Jack Wills.

As a real shorty standing at just 5ft 3, I find that the best type of trench to flatter my height and shape will finish just above my knee. I like my trench coats to be double breasted, with a belt around the middle.

This specific style will fall into the typical classic trench category. You might however find that your perfect trench may be longer, single breasted, or a complete different texture and style. It's all about experimenting when it comes to finding your perfect trench.

My two current go-to outfits at the moment is a mix up between simply chucking on a pair of jeans, an over-sized slogan tee and some comfy sandals, or an embroidered/gingham smock dress and some strappy heels. I feel like these trends are going a little bit cray at the minute, but i'm really into them so going to rock it whilst I can. Both outfits look amazing with a trench thrown over the top!

For this post however, I decided to pair this lovely semi-lightweight Missguided trench with a beautiful white, structured pencil dress and a pair of black strappy heels. Perfect for summer and especially with ladies day coming up!
